This is a comprehensive course with full-time schedule of lectures, demonstrations, practical and clinical experience in the delivery of Imaging Technology. The course is designed to develop personnel to use modern Radiology equipments like X-ray, CT scan, MRI,  Mammography, & Cathlab Machines in Hospital.

The average course fees of BSc radiography in India range between 14K to 1.5L per year. In government institute it’s range is between 14K to 70K per year. But in private college fees start from 40K to 1.5L per annum.

Average salary for fresh graduates start from 20K to 30K according to his knowledge, skill. Which usually tends to increase with increased knowledge and expertise in the field. They are recruited as X-Ray technicians, Radiographer , CT technician, MRI technician ,Radiation Protection Specialists, etc.

Some Key Point For Couse-

What is Advanced Diploma In Medical Imaging Technology-

Radiography is a technology which deals with radiation ( X rays , Gamma Rays , Ultrasound or similar Ionizing Radiation , or Non Ionizing Radiation) to viewing the internal part of body.

Subject of radiography is Radiation Physics, General radiographic procedure ,Special Radiographic Procedure, Fluoroscopy ,CT scan ,MRI scan, etc.

Risk/Benefits of Radiography-

Radiography is a type of x-ray procedure and carries the same risks as other x-ray procedures. The radiation dose received by the patient varies with the procedure, but is generally less than that of fluoroscopy and computed tomography.

The greatest risks associated with X-ray examination are the low possibilities of

  • When X-rays are absorbed into our bodies, they can damage molecular structures and potentially cause harm.
  • Very high doses of radiation damage human cells, resulting in skin burns, hair loss, and an increased incidence of cancer.
  • Since high doses of radiation can cause cancer, it is generally believed that low doses can also cause cancer.
  • In pregnant patients or patients of childbearing age, of disrupting the growth or development of an embryo or fetus (teratogenic defect).

When medically necessary, the benefits of x-ray examination far outweigh the small cancer risk associated with the procedure. Even when an x-ray examination is medically necessary, it should be performed with the least possible radiation exposure and the fewest possible number of exposures. In most cases, many of the potential risks can be reduced or eliminated by appropriate shielding.

Opportunities-

Radiography uses basic technologies and tools like a computer-aided technician or manual radiographer or mobile radiographer to handle job scope and opportunities like:

  • Radiology Technician
  • X ray Technician
  • CT Technician
  • Technologist
  • MRI Technician
  • Radiology Assistant
  • Radiology Technologist
  • Radiographer
  • Ultrasound Technician
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Radiology Nurse
  • Dark Room Technician
  • OT (C Arm) Technician
  • Dental X ray Technician
  • Etc.

Eligibility Criteria-

Admission for B.Sc Radiology course, aspirants, require to complete class 10+2 or pass the examinations from any recognized school or board. The minimum marks to come under the eligibility criteria of the college or the universities are 60% aggregate marks. Age is the key factor for the admission process.
